Circa 1990's Pin/Pendant by Zuni couple Nancy and Ruddell Laconsello. Married couple, Nancy and Ruddell Laconsello of Zuni, have worked together since they married in 1976, and are known for their exquisite inlay pieces, featuring especially finely etched and inlaid birds. Ruddell does the silverwork and Nancy does the inlay. Nancy is the daughter of the late Jake Haloo and her sister is Dolly Banteah. She is also related to Dennis Edaakie. Zuni Pueblo artist Quinton Quam created this very unusual and wonderful reversible link bracelet. Eight individual discs are inlaid on both sides, for a total of 14 birds, one butterfly and a flamingo encircling the wrist. Each disc measures approximately 3/4" in diameter. The link bracelet is 3/4" wide by 9 1/2" in length (including the finishing of lobster clasp and 3 rings for adjustable length). The links are: Eagle and Hummingbird, Flamingo and flying Bluejay, Raven and Snowy Owl, Oriole and Butterfly, Hummingbird and Bluebird, Gambel Quail and Red-headed Woodpecker, Cardinal and Bluejay, and Redbird with Roadrunner. The material Quinton used is all natural turquoise, red coral, mother-of-pearl, jet, lapid, spiny oyster, abalone, and Pacific coral.
