Lakota Sioux Delbert Charging Crow created this Horse Standing Fetish. When Delbert carves a horse, he also always includes a small "walking stick" attached to the power package, so when the rider dismounts he has the walking stick for support to continue his journey. As a Plains Indian, Delbert considers the horse as a particularly important animal to carve, just as it was for his ancestors. The horse also is believed to be a healer. The sculpture measures approximately 6" tall by 2 1/2" wide by approximately 6 1/4" from nose to tail, and is carved from Alabaster.
