Item Details
Award winning Comanche artist White Buffalo created this sterling silver and natural Kingman turquoise bracelet. The bracelet is 1 1/2" wide and features 2 Yeis and 1 Yeibichai appliqued on the bracelet. The bracelet is also engraved on the inside with two more Yeis. The single Yeibichai symbolizes the Talking God, a significant Navajo deity, one of the Holy People. Above his head is the fan of eagle feathers; at his neck the ruff of spruce; a deerskin sash draped across his chest. He is suspended above Dinetah (sacred Navajoland centered in Monument Valley. On the opposite side of the cuff, two Yeis--a female and a male Yei--entwine with sacred stalks of corn. Inside the bracelet, each Yei is depicted in their sacred garb of a short kilt with a concho belt, two eagle feathers atop their heads, holding rattles and spruce fans. They are connected with lightning, symbols of celestial energy and internal power. Altogether, the bracelet representations are a reminder of our two halves, of making the right choices to seek balance, and of the code of behavior to live in harmony with the universe. The high grade waterweb Kingman turquoise from Arizona is 1 3/8" by 15/16". The bracelet will fit a 6 1/2" wrist and has a 1 1/8" opening.
