Item Details
Santo Domingo Pueblo 6-Strand Treasure Necklace, circa 1990s from a collection. This is such a different and wonderful necklace, starting with the heishi which is handground melon shell instead of the typical olive or pinshell. The significant shell is deep orange spiny oyster, cut and hand-shaped into graduated slivers, interspersed with various stones and shells, including lapis, malachite, tiger eye, and turquoise tabs. And then there are the surprises, the treasures. Old silver discs and beads. An old piece of Royston turquoise set in a bezel and strung on the necklace. An old turquoise ring, with two channels of micro inlay. And an old silver twist ring. And a small single stone turquoise pendant. Your fingers want to go bead by bead, exploring. Measures approximately 35" in length, including approximately 7" of Navajo wrap.
